Next, cut the puff pastry sheet in half and roll each half into a 15cm x 18cm rectangle. For precise measurements, you can use a ruler. Repeat this process with the second sheet of the puff pastry.

TIPS: If cracks appear while you’re working with puff pastry, don’t worry! Simply moisten them with a little water and then press down with your fingers to bring the dough back together. Easy peasy!

Mini Chocolate Puff Pastry Braids

Ingredients:

  • Chocolate bars with filling – 4 pcs. (200 g)
  • Puff pastry – 1 package (500 g)

  • Eggs – 1 pc. (50 g)
  • Melted white chocolate
  • Fondant flowers
  • Edible white and rose sugar balls

Cooking steps:

  1. Place puff pastry, thawed according to package instructions, on a lightly floured surface. Cut the puff pastry sheet in half and roll it into two 15cm x 18cm rectangles. Repeat with the second sheet of puff pastry.
  2. Place one of the rectangles with the short side facing you, and place a chocolate bar in the center.
  3. Make diagonal cuts from top to bottom on both sides of the bar. Make cuts starting from the top and ending with the bottom corners of the chocolate bar. The width of the strips is about 2-2.5 cm. Cut the resulting triangles from the top and bottom to form small rectangles.
  4. Wrap the resulting rectangles onto the bar. Starting from the top, fold the strips one at a time on top of each other in a “braid” manner.
  5. Transfer the puff pastries to a baking sheet previously lined with parchment paper. Brush the top with beaten egg. Prepare 3 more puff pastries in the same way.
  6. Bake in an oven preheated to 200°C (400⁰F) for 20-25 minutes.
  7. Pour melted white chocolate over the finished puff pastries. Decorate with fondant flowers and edible white and rose sugar balls.
