Best Homemade Strawberry Cake – VIDEO RECIPE
how to cook Best Homemade Strawberry Cake?
STEP 1
To begin, preheat the oven to 180°C (350⁰F). Ensure that the frozen strawberries are completely thawed and drain off any excess liquid. Cut some of the strawberries in half lengthwise, while the larger berries should be coarsely chopped.
TIPS: If you don’t have frozen strawberries, fresh ones can be a fantastic alternative. They’ll add a burst of flavor to your recipe and give it a delightful twist.
TIPS: Slicing frozen strawberries becomes a breeze if you let them thaw slightly at room temperature. This way, you can effortlessly cut through them without any hassle.
STEP 2
Next, place the chopped strawberries in a medium-sized bowl and add the strawberry jam. Stir the mixture until well combined.
STEP 3
In a separate medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt, and stir them together.
STEP 4
In a large bowl, place the softened butter and add the sugar. Using a mixer at medium speed, beat the butter and sugar until it becomes creamy.
TIPS: If your butter is too hard, a few seconds in the microwave can soften it up and make it easier to whip.
TIPS: Instead of using butter, you can opt for good quality margarine. It works just as well! But keep in mind that margarine contains salt. So, you might want to reduce the amount of salt in the recipe. Just a little heads up!
STEP 5
Then, add the eggs one at a time to the sugar-butter mixture, ensuring thorough mixing after each addition.
STEP 6
Gradually add the flour mixture to the egg-butter mixture, beating at a low speed with the mixer until the dough becomes smooth.
STEP 7
Line the bottom of a 20cm round baking tin with parchment paper and grease the sides with butter. Transfer the prepared dough into the tin.
STEP 8
Spoon the strawberry mixture over the top of the dough, leaving approximately 2 cm of space around the edges.
STEP 9
Place the tin with the dough into the preheated oven at 180°C (350⁰F) and bake for 50-55 minutes. Or until the cake turns a golden brown color.

STEP 10
Once baked, allow the cake to cool in the tin for 5 minutes. Then, remove it from the tin and let it cool completely.
TIPS: Wondering if your cake is ready? Stick a wooden stick or toothpick into the center – if it comes out clean, your cake is done.
STEP 11
In a small bowl, combine powdered sugar and milk, mixing thoroughly until a smooth consistency is achieved.
TIPS: When it comes to icing, I’ve got you covered. If it’s too thick for your liking, simply add a little more milk. On the other hand, if it’s too thin, sprinkle in some powdered sugar to thicken it up.
STEP 12
Pour the icing over the cooled cake.
TIPS: Now, here’s one more head up about icing. It hardens pretty quickly. So, make sure to use it right away to avoid any clumpy disasters.
STEP 13
To add a finishing touch, decorate the cake with fresh strawberries on top of the icing.
STEP 14
Finally, cut Best Homemade Strawberry Cake into equal pieces and serve alongside a cup of tea. Enjoy your delicious creation!
