how to cook Fresh Strawberry Milk Cake?

STEP 1

To start, preheat your oven to 160°C (320⁰F). Take the strawberries and remove the stems, then cut them in half.

TIPS: If you don’t have fresh strawberries on hand, frozen ones can be a great substitute.

STEP 2

In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

STEP 3

Next, grab a large bowl and place the softened butter in it. Use a mixer at medium speed to beat the butter until it becomes creamy. Then, add the sugar and vanilla sugar, and continue beating until the mixture becomes light and fluffy.

TIPS: If your butter is too hard, a few seconds in the microwave can soften it up and make it easier to whip.

TIPS: Instead of using butter, you can opt for good quality margarine. It works just as well! But keep in mind that margarine contains salt. So, you might want to reduce the amount of salt in the recipe. Just a little heads up!

STEP 4

Now, it’s time to add the eggs to the sugar-butter mixture, one at a time. Make sure to mix well after each addition.

STEP 5

Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter-egg mixture, alternating with the milk. Start and finish with the flour mixture, making sure to mix everything together well.

STEP 6

Take a 23cm one-piece baking tin and grease it with butter. Sprinkle some flour on it as well. Pour the dough into the prepared tin and smooth out the top.

STEP 7

Place the strawberry halves on top of the dough.

STEP 8

Once the cake is done, leave it in the tin for 5 minutes. This will make it easier to remove from the tin.

TIPS: Wondering if your cake is ready? Stick a wooden stick or toothpick into the center – if it comes out clean, your cake is done.

STEP 10

In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar and milk thoroughly until you get a smooth icing.

TIPS: When it comes to icing, I’ve got you covered. If it’s too thick for your liking, simply add a little more milk. On the other hand, if it’s too thin, sprinkle in some powdered sugar to thicken it up.

TIPS: Now, here’s one more head up about icing. It hardens pretty quickly. So, make sure to use it right away to avoid any clumpy disasters.
