how to cook French Strawberry Yogurt Cake?
STEP 1
To start, preheat your oven to 160°C (320⁰F). Take some sliced strawberries that have been slightly thawed and roll them in 2 tablespoons of flour. This will prevent any excess liquid from the strawberries from getting into the dough.
TIPS: Slicing frozen strawberries becomes a breeze if you let them thaw slightly at room temperature. This way, you can effortlessly cut through them without any hassle.
TIPS: If you don’t have frozen strawberries, fresh ones can be a fantastic alternative. They’ll add a burst of flavor to your recipe and give it a delightful twist.
STEP 2
In a separate bowl, mix the remaining flour with baking powder and salt.
STEP 3
In a medium bowl, beat the eggs with sugar until they become a fluffy pale mass.
STEP 4
Gradually add yogurt to the egg-sugar mixture, followed by the flour mixture and vegetable oil.
TIPS: Make sure to use refined, deodorized vegetable oil. This will help prevent any strange smells or tastes from creeping into your treats.
STEP 5
Gently mix in the pieces of floured strawberries to the dough.
STEP 6
Grease a 22 cm by 12 cm loaf tin with butter and sprinkle it with flour. Pour the dough into the prepared tin and smooth the top.
STEP 7
Place the tin with the dough in the preheated to 160°C (320⁰F) oven and bake for 1 hour until it turns golden brown.

STEP 8
After baking, let the cake sit in the tin for 10 minutes to make it easier to remove. Once it has cooled slightly, take it out of the tin, flip it over, and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
TIPS: Wondering if your cake is ready? Stick a wooden stick or toothpick into the center – if it comes out clean, your cake is done.
TIPS: To stabilize an inverted cake, use a bread knife with a serrated blade to cut off the top.
STEP 9
In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
TIPS: Now, here’s a head up about icing. It hardens pretty quickly. So, make sure to use it right away to avoid any clumpy disasters.
STEP 10
Spread this icing over the cooled cake and garnish it with fresh strawberry slices.
TIPS: When it comes to spreading thick icing on your cake, using an icing spatula is the way to go. It’s not only easier but also more convenient. Just make sure to dip the spatula in water from time to time to keep the icing smooth and manageable.
STEP 11
Cut French Strawberry Yogurt Cake into equal pieces and serve it with tea. Enjoy your meal!
