To start, wash the beets and then boil them until they’re tender. Once they’re cooked, peel off the skin and cut them into thick slices.

TIPS: When it comes to beets, there are multiple ways to prepare them. You can boil them peeled, leave the skins on, or even bake them in foil in the oven. Whichever method you choose, you’ll end up with tasty beets for your dish.

Now, here’s where things get fun – grab a cookie cutter and use it to cut out some “stars” from each beet slice. Don’t worry about the leftover beets, just roughly chop them up.

TIPS: Instead of just using beet “stars” to decorate your salad, you can also try making “flowers” or other fun shapes. But for everyday meals, simply cutting the beets into cubes will do the trick.

Next up, let’s tackle the eggs. Soft-boil them for about 7 minutes, then cool them down in some cold water. Once they’re cooled, peel off the shells and cut the eggs lengthwise into four pieces.

TIPS: Now, let’s talk about boiling frozen green peas. It’s super easy! Just put the peas into a saucepan, add hot water, and a pinch of salt. Put it on medium heat, let it come to a boil, and cook for about 3 minutes. Voila! Perfectly cooked peas.

Grab the Napa cabbage and give it a good chop. Nothing too fancy, just coarsely chop it up.

TIPS: When making salads, opt for the tender green part of Napa cabbage leaves. The inner white part, which is more rigid, can be used for stewing, frying, boiling, and preparing other dishes.
