Chocolate Sour Cherry Muffins – VIDEO RECIPE

how to cook Chocolate Sour Cherry Muffins?
STEP 1

To begin, preheat the oven to 180°C (350⁰F). Take slightly thawed cherries and roll them in 1 tablespoon of flour to prevent excess liquid from seeping into the dough.
TIPS: Frozen cherries can be substituted for fresh ones, removing the need to coat them in flour.
STEP 2

In a medium bowl, combine the remaining flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir them together until well mixed.
STEP 3

Next, place an egg in a large bowl and add sugar. Use a mixer to beat the mixture until it becomes a fluffy and pale mass.
STEP 4

Gradually add half of the flour mixture to the egg-sugar mixture. Then, pour in the milk and add sour cream. Add the remaining half of the flour mixture and pour in the melted butter. Mix everything together with a mixer on low speed until the dough becomes smooth.
TIPS: Melt your butter either on the stove or in the microwave – whichever is more convenient for you.
TIPS: Instead of using butter, you can opt for good quality margarine. It works just as well! But keep in mind that margarine contains salt. So, you might want to reduce the amount of salt in the recipe. Just a little heads up!
STEP 5

Now, gently fold in coarsely chopped chocolate and the cherries that were rolled in flour.
STEP 6

Prepare 6 paper cups and place them in a muffin pan. Fill each paper cup about 3/4 full with the dough.
TIPS: Don’t have muffin paper cups? No problem! You can either buy them at the store or make your own at home.
TIPS: Another suggestion is to grease the muffin tin with butter and sprinkle it with flour.
STEP 7

Place some coarsely chopped chocolate on top of the dough and arrange the cherries on top as well.
STEP 8

Bake the muffins in the preheated oven at 180°C (350⁰F) for 25-30 minutes.
TIPS: Looking for some helpful advice on how to preheat your oven and prepare it for baking? Look no further than my articles “How and Why Do You Need to Preheat Oven” and “Top 7 Secrets How to Bake in Oven”.
STEP 9

Once baked, transfer the muffins to a wire rack and allow them to cool slightly.
TIPS: Wondering if your muffins are ready? Stick a wooden stick or toothpick into the center – if it comes out clean, your muffins are done.
STEP 10

Carefully remove the paper cups from the cooled muffins.
TIPS: Muffins are at their absolute best when enjoyed on the day they are made. However, if you can’t resist saving some for later, no worries! Just pop them into an airtight container and store them at room temperature or in the fridge for up to 3 days.
STEP 11

Serve these delicious Chocolate Sour Cherry Muffins warm or at room temperature. Enjoy your meal!
