Cherry Crumble Yeast Cake – VIDEO RECIPE
how to cook Cherry Crumble Yeast Cake?
STEP 1
To start, preheat your oven to 175°C (350⁰F). Take a sheet of rich yeast dough and make sure to thaw it according to the instructions on the package. Place the dough on a lightly floured surface.
STEP 2
Now, it’s time to roll out the yeast dough into a 20cm x 20cm square. If you want to be precise, you can use a ruler to get the perfect measurements.
STEP 3
Next, grease a 20cm x 20cm square baking tin with butter and sprinkle it with flour. Use a rolling pin to transfer the rolled-out dough into the prepared tin. Cover the tin with cling film and let it rise in a warm place for 40 minutes.
TIPS: If you don’t have cling film, a clean kitchen towel can be used to cover the dough.
STEP 4
While the dough is rising, wash the cherries and remove the seeds and stems.
TIPS: If you don’t have fresh cherries, frozen ones can be a great substitute. Just remember to roll them in a small amount of sugar to prevent excess liquid from seeping into the dough.
TIPS: Feel free to experiment with different fruits in your recipes. Sour cherries or sweet cherries can be a delicious addition to your dough, giving it a unique and flavorful twist.
STEP 5
In a medium bowl, mix ricotta, sugar, vanilla sugar, and cornstarch.
STEP 6
Add eggs to the mixture and blend everything together with an immersion blender until smooth.
STEP 7
In another medium bowl, stir softened butter into the ricotta.
TIPS: If your butter is too hard, a few seconds in the microwave can soften it up and make it easier to whip.
TIPS: Instead of using butter, you can opt for good quality margarine. It works just as well!
STEP 8
Now, add sugar, flour, and baking powder to the ricotta mixture and mix it thoroughly.
STEP 9
Spread this ricotta filling on top of the yeast dough and place the prepared cherries on top.
STEP 10
Sprinkle the crumble topping over the cherries.
STEP 11
Place the cake tin in the preheated oven at 175°C (350⁰F). Bake it for 30-35 minutes until it turns a beautiful golden brown.

STEP 12
Once it’s done, leave the cake in the tin for 5 minutes, then remove it from the tin and let it cool.
STEP 13
After the cake has cooled down, sprinkle some powdered sugar on top.
STEP 14
Finally, cut Cherry Crumble Yeast Cake into equal piecies and serve it with a nice cup of tea. Enjoy your meal!
